Bank teller lines are getting even shorter

Banking transactions that happen inside branches continue to decline, as they have for more than a decade. Branch transaction volumes have declined more than 45 percent since 1992, according to FMSI, a software provider that has tracked the trend and has access to more than 16 million monthly transactions from financial institutions. - In 1992, branches averaged 11,700 monthly teller transactions.
