Costly yet simple state logo named 'Pork of the Year'

Tennessee state government’s new $46,000 logo has been named “Pork of the Year.” In an advance of the release of its annual “Pork Report,” The Beacon Center of Tennessee this year allowed people to vote for what they considered the most wasteful instance of government spending. The new logo — a simple design that depicts the letters “TN” inside a red box with a blue line beneath it — garnered 47 percent of hundreds of votes, edging out $165 million in economic incentives the state…
