SEC advances rules that would force more executive bonus clawbacks

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has voted to advance new rules that could eventually require public companies to take back incentive-based compensation given to executives in certain circumstances. SEC chair Mary Jo White was quoted by the Wall Street Journal saying, before the vote, "Executive officers should not be permitted to retain incentive-based compensation that they should not have received in the first instance."
